Team selection as participants in the Ehime contest
	The followings are the procedure to select 26 teams as participants in the Ehime contest. Prerequisite To compete in the 2004 domestic contest held on June 2. Step 1 The following three procedures are performed for all teams in decreasing order of their rankings. Let A be the team of interest. If the number of selected teams is less than 10 : A is selected as a participant in the Ehime contest, unless 3 teams are already selected from the same university/college. If the number of selected teams is less than 20 and grater than or equal to 10 : A is selected as a participant in the Ehime contest, unless 2 teams are already selected from the same university/college. If the number of selected teams is less than 26 and grater than or equal to 20 : A is selected as a participant in the Ehime contest, unless 1 team is already selected from the same university/college. Step 2 If the number of selected teams is less than 26 after Step1: Evaluate all no-selected teams again in decreasing order of their rankings. In the procedure, the team of interest is selected as a participant unless 3 teams are already selected from the same university/college. Step 3 If the number of selected teams is less than 26 after Step2: The remaining participants are selected by the Ehime director in consideration of the domestic contest results. Exception If a selected team declines the invitation, an additional team is selected through the above steps. For foreign teams, the regional director will decide which teams will be accepted according to the following policy: as many universities/colleges as possible, as many countries and/or regions as possible. The number of selected foreign teams will not exceed seven(7).
